Happy 2015 everyone! It’s a brand new year, brand new start and brand new beginning.
Get on track to achieve your goals and make this year your BEST ever. That’s because you deserve only the BEST !
If you are ready for an awesome 2015, here are some ideas that I have learned and I hope can inspire you.
1) Visualise your ideal life
Give yourself permission to visualize your ideal life, the life of your dreams. This exercise opens a portal of inner knowledge that can lead you to your ideal life.
After visualizing where you would like to take your life, view it with your current life.
Be prepare to get a little uncomfortable if there is some difference between the two. However, this step gives you a “beginning” and an “end” point, both of which are neccessary to set out plans to get from one to the other.
2) Take daily steps toward achieving your long term vision
Les Brown , motivational coach says : “I’ve learned that my daily choices make a big difference in my long-term happiness.” “Greatness is a choice; it’s not our destiny.”
I have been a big- picture person, but this year, I am chunking down my vision into daily, doable goals that I can measure. The little choices I make consistently to spend a few minutes each day on my long term vision will make a significant difference overtime.
3) Create an environment to foster your success.
Sometimes, we may not even realize to what extent we are influenced, negatively and positively- by things and people around us.
Start to take note and keep track of these influences so you can eliminate the negative and increase the positive. For example, if being around a certain co-worker always makes you feel discouraged or drained, you should limit time with that person. It is very crucial to take time in nurturing your emotional well-being by choosing friends who genuinely want you to succeed and who consistently encourage you.
In a nutshell, whether it is gossip from your colleagues, depressing stories from the media, pessimism in your own thoughts or other influences, make a conscious efforts to reduce your exposure to the negative. You will feel the positive benefits almost instantly!
4) Slow down to Speed up
This is an important idea by Robin Sharma, leadership expert and author of the book The Leader who had no title. Below are some amazing ideas that Robin shares.
“It is easy to stay busy, moving as fast as you possibly can. But what is the point of spending your days climbing a mountain, only to realize at the end of the new year, you climbed the wrong one?”
The best leaders are staggeringly focused on their vital few – those few priorities that will yield explosive results. And the way to build this type of focus is to SLOW DOWN.
If only for 30 minutes each day, slow down to think, plan, visualize and recite your best moves in a journal. You’ll become aware of your biggest opportunities, your smartest activities and your greatest tactics for growth.
With this insight and clarity, you can then take actions that will drive excellent results.
Commit to making it your breakthrough year and slow down for a bit each day. Then you will be perfectly prepared to speed up. And win in the game of life.
5) Take stock, track your progress and tweak when necessary.
I call it the 3-T review process. Every quarterly, I’ll ask myself: What battles did I fight and not win last year? Are any of those battles worth continuing? Why didn’t I win them ? What have I learned? What can I do to win them this year? How can I make those things that worked well last year happen more frequently? Make 2015 an epic year!
As this blog post is a little long, I will share with you another five helpful tips and ideas on my next blog post ! 🙂
Stay Awesome !
